Homage To The Hugo Boss Design

Allgemeine-SS officer service tunic for sale  with the rank of SS-Obersturmbannfuhrer. The tunic tailored using a very fine black wool / doeskin material. Insignia consisting of a single epaulette insignia bearing the silver-aluminium cords on back. The collar patch insignia with the silver-aluminium number '7', along with the  silver edge piping. The companion rank patch with four silver-aluminium pips and brocade rank stripe on black, along with silver edge piping. The embroidery of the Runes and '1' of particularly high quality workmanship. Both collar patches beautifully tailor machine-sewn into place.

The tunic with  the standard SS armband and  fine, hand-embroidered silver-aluminium '7' cuff title. The tunic also has the Old Campaigners chevron to the right-hand sleeve. There are loops for three awards to the pocket, along with loops for a ribbon bar. Fine dull silvered matching buttons throughout. The lining in typical black silk and with matching black silk to the sleeves. There is also the original black silk woven tailors name label, Johannes Mendel. The tunic also hosts a good set of parade aiguillettes.

Condition report: Overall very goood towards excellent condition, showing some light service wear. The insignia fresh looking. Collar patches machine-sewn into position . The armband typically hand-sewn on, the cuff title machine-sewn into position. The tunic free from moth or damage. Lining clean.

Notes 1: According to records, SS-Obersturmbannfuhrer Bachmann was head of SS-Standarte '7' at one point in the 1930s.

Notes 2: it was the well-known fashion designer, Hugo Boss, that was asked to prepare the original designs for the black Allgemeine-SS uniform.
